We held our sponsored SNAP-NC mobile spay day on Tuesday, January 18th and it was fantastic. Paid for by a grant from the ASPCA (www.aspca.org) and a generous donation from 1stInsurance Services, we were able to provide the following:
Neuter of 6 feral cats
Spay of 8 feral cats
Neuter of 13 tame (pet) cats
Spay of 16 tame (pet) cats
In addition, one female tame cat (recently taken by one of our spay day participants) was brought to the spay day was found to already be spayed - so vaccinations were updated on this cat. And one tame kitten had a hernia and this was repaired at the time of surgery at no cost to the owner.
The rescue also purchased cat food to send home with our spay day participants. Everyone went home with an 18-pound bag of cat food.
The SNAP-NC mobile spay/neuter team was absolutely fantastic. We strongly encourage any rescues that have grant money to sponsor the van for the day. It's easy and a great way to help the community.
Below are just a few of the many pictures we took from this spay day.
