Successful Spay Day on January 7th

Alley Cats and Angels was able to provide spay/neuter and vaccinations for 28 cats currently living in a rural mobile home park.  Statistics from this spay day:
  • Most of the cats were friendly, two were feral
  • 16 cats were male, 12 were female
  • The cats ranged in age from 3 momths to 2 years old, with over half of them under 9 months old
  • One kitty has a tumor in her ear which was removed at the time of her spay surgery
This spay day was paid for by funds from the Bernice Barbour Foundation grant, as well as a donation from the mobile home park owner of $10 per cat.

We greatly appreciate Dr. Barbara Farmer, Greystone Animal Hospital in Raleigh, NC for taking on a big spay day on such short notice as this was an emergency situation.

As many of the 26 carriers and 2 traps as we could fit in one picture!

This poor girl came in with a tumor in her ear.  It was removed during her surgery and she went home on meds.
