Three Kittens
I've been trying to figure out what to name three little kittens that we got last week.  They're at my house so I get naming rights.  There are two girls and one boy.  I'm leaning towards TV show theme and thinking of naming them Rizzoli (the tortie, she's a little rough around the edges), Isles (the other female), and Korsak (the male) after characters on the TNT TV show, Rizzoli and Isles.  What do you think?  Cute?  Not good? Meh?

The Return of Charlie
Charlie Chaplain who was adopted about 1.5 years ago was returned last night. He likes the dogs in his adoptive family because he'll snuggle with them but he started peeing everywhere the dogs lay.  *sigh, naughty Charlie*  Charlie is at the vet this morning to see if he has a bladder infection.  If not, then we'll talk to the vet to see if Prozac is an option (sometimes needed to help the cats get back to normal behavior and see how he does in a dog free home.  The weird thing is, Charlie was fostered with smaller dogs and did just fine.  His family said he is the most loving cat ever.  Not this morning!  Charlie hasn't been with other cats in over a year so he's very cranky and mad right now.  And possibly he doesn't like being crated.  But it is a huge kitty condo - it's actually an old freestanding adoption center from Petco.  Which takes up one whole wall in my great room.

Sad News
In other news, sad news, I lost a kitten last night.  Mama cat (no name, I really need to name her and her babies but can't come up with a theme I like that hasn't been used) and her three babies were pulled from a rural high-kill shelter two weeks ago tomorrow.  The babies have all been doing great, gaining weight, eating well, etc.  Yesterday morning they were all doing well, but last night, the little tabby wasn't.  He had lost weight since the day before and was a little cold (and it was not cold in the house).  Called the emergency vet and did a tube feeding and heated up a snuggle safe disc for kitty and cuddled him (all we could do per the vet).  But he didn't make it.  Bawled like a baby and then dropped him off at Rollings Lab for a necropsy.  It could just be fading kitten syndrome, mama takes great care of the other two but last night didn't want anything to do with the tabby.  I was going into the office today but decided to work from home instead so I can constantly check on the other two kittens every hour today.

I think your proposed names for the three kits are great. Very unique!

So sorry it didn't work out for Charlie. Hopefully you can figure out what's causing his undesirable behaviors.

That makes me so sad about the tabby baby. :(

Oh, btw, I saw your comment about how PAWS manages to adopt out so many adult cats. I'm not really sure, but it always slows down during kitten season...

Well, Charlie does not have a UTI so Dr. T has prescribed Prozac for him. We'll need to find him a foster home that doesn't have dogs and has limited other cats after he's been on the prozac for a few weeks to see if it's working.

I was saddened to learn of the tabby baby. I don't know why some momma's reject a baby like that. It makes me sad and that's in no way any help to the poor baby or me or you. JUst rambling..sorry. Charlie, I sure hope he can be where there are no dogs. I bet it helps.
